Delivery & returns

What delivery costs, how long it takes, and how to send a kit back if you change your mind.

We are Kalarshi - Indian Arts, a family-run studio based in St Albans, United Kingdom. We pack and post every kit ourselves. If anything below is unclear, or something has gone wrong with an order, please get in touch — we would always rather hear from you than have you stuck.

Where we deliver

We currently deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only. We are not able to ship outside the UK at the moment. If you are abroad and would like a kit, message us and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.

What delivery costs

  • UK delivery: £3.95 per order, however many kits you order.
  • Free UK delivery on orders over £50.00.

The delivery charge is shown in your basket and again on the Stripe checkout page before you pay. There are no other charges: no customs or handling fees apply within the UK.

How long it takes

We aim to pack and post your order within 2 to 3 working days. Royal Mail then usually takes a further 2 to 3 working days, so most orders arrive within about a week. We will email you when your order is on its way, with a tracking number where the service we used provides one.

Around Diwali and in the run-up to Christmas we get busier and packing can take a little longer. If you need a kit by a particular date, tell us before you order and we will say whether we can make it rather than guess.

By law your order must reach you within 30 days of purchase unless we have agreed something else with you. If it has not, you can treat the contract as at an end and we will refund you in full.

Changing your mind: your 14-day right to cancel

If you are a consumer in the UK you have the right to cancel your order for any reason, without giving us a reason, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

  • You have 14 days from the day you receive your order to tell us you are cancelling.
  • Once you have told us, you have a further 14 days to send the goods back.
  • We refund you within 14 days of getting the goods back (or of you showing us you have sent them, whichever is sooner), to the card you paid with.

This applies to every kit we sell, including kits where you picked your own mirror shapes. Those shapes come from a fixed set we keep in stock, so choosing them does not make the kit bespoke and does not take away your right to cancel.

How to cancel

Email us at kalarshi.arts@gmail.com or message us on WhatsApp (opens in a new tab), with your order number and the word "cancel". A clear statement is enough — you do not have to use a particular form of words, and we will reply to confirm and give you the return address.

Then post the goods back to us at 3 Cloister Garth, St Albans AL1 2HT, United Kingdom.

Return postage and the state of the goods

  • You pay the return postage when you are cancelling because you changed your mind. We recommend a tracked service: until it reaches us, the parcel is your responsibility.
  • We pay the return postage when the goods are faulty, damaged or not what you ordered.
  • You may handle and inspect a kit as you would in a shop. If you use it beyond that — opening the clay or glue, gluing mirrors to the board — we may reduce your refund to reflect the loss in value, because we cannot sell it again.
  • Your refund includes the standard delivery charge you paid. If you chose a faster or more expensive delivery option, we refund the standard cost, not the premium.

If something arrives damaged or faulty

Mirrors and clay travel well, but parcels get dropped. If anything is broken, missing or not what you ordered, send us a photo within a few days of it arriving and we will put it right — a replacement part, a replacement kit or a refund, whichever you would rather have. You do not pay postage in that case.

This sits alongside, and does not replace, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015: goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Within 30 days of delivery you have the short-term right to reject faulty goods for a full refund.

Mirrors, small parts and safety

Kits contain small mirror pieces with cut edges and are not suitable for children under 8. Younger children can take part with an adult doing the mirror work. This is a note about using the kit safely, not a limit on any of your rights above.

Workshops, events and the Arts Club

Workshops booked for a particular date work differently from kits, because the law treats a booking for a leisure activity on a named date as exempt from the 14-day cancellation right. The notice periods, deposits and what happens if a date has to move are set out in our terms and conditions.

Complaints

If we have not put something right to your satisfaction, email kalarshi.arts@gmail.com and say so plainly. We are two people, not a call centre, and we will reply. Nothing in this policy affects your legal rights.
